“Starting out as a special education and elementary education teacher and then transitioning into school counseling after earning a Master of Education in Counseling degree, I worked for 20 years in the public schools. My time in education included eight years as a Ropes Course-Adventure Based Counseling facilitator and 13 years as a parenting education instructor. Completing additional training, I became a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapist in 1998.

In 1999, I moved from the public school system to private practice where I have facilitated thousands of sessions with individuals, couples, and families helping them to reconnect to and live authentically from their hearts. Feeling called to expand my understanding of God and to deepen my connection to Spirit, I attended One Spirit Interfaith Seminary (One Spirit Learning Alliance) and was ordained as an Interfaith Minister in 2008.

In 2014, I became certified as a Prepare/Enrich instructor. I help couples build and enhance healthy foundations for their relationships. Serving as a marriage officiant, I work with couples to create their perfect wedding, vow renewal or commitment ceremony.

Through my own personal growth work, I became aware of how disconnection from the heart leads to defensiveness which hurts the self as well as others. With time, unpacking and healing past “baggage” has allowed me to make more loving, compassionate, and heart centered decisions in my life. It is my deep desire to help others do the same.

Learning to have happy, healthy, meaningful relationships with self and others – breaking dysfunctional cycles and living authentically from the heart – is truly possible and is, I believe, a blessing to the world.

Over the years, I have come to believe that God is Love and is infinitely compassionate and merciful. Following the teachings of Jesus and Christianity has been/is my primary spiritual path. I also have experienced connection with this source of infinite Love through mindfulness meditation, sitting in nature, chanting, sweat lodges (Earthtribe) and more.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading and discussing books with my book club, gardening, yoga, and watching baseball. I’m an avid Houston Astros fan! My favorite color is purple, my favorite flower is the iris, and one of my special delights is watching the hummingbirds as they return each spring and fall to my garden. Dear to me are my family and friends who have been teachers in so many ways throughout my life. I know and honor the importance of heart-centered communication in fostering healthy, loving relationships.”
